MEDTalk – Transplantation, October 4th 2018

MEDTalk is an opportunity for you to network with your industry colleagues and to hear presentations from both a doctor and patient perspective. There is an option for MRII members and non-members to attend. Tea/coffee and sandwiches on arrival. Each presentation is approximately 25 minutes, followed by Q&A.

The theme for this MEDTalk event is Transplantation and brings together Mr Mohan, Transplantation/Urology, Beaumont Hospital and Mr Ronald Grainger, retired Consultant Urologist and kidney recipient.

MR RONALD GRAINGER ““Living well with a kidney transplant”.

Ron was born in Belfast and grew up in Holywood, Co Down. He graduated from medical school in Trinity College Dublin. His Basic Surgical Training took place in Dublin and in Darlington, Co Durham. He completed his Higher Surgical Training in Urology in Dublin and at The University of Michigan. Ron was a Consultant Urologist in Tallaght Hospital and St James’s Hospital and was a lecturer in the Department of Surgery in Trinity College Dublin. In 2003 following the development of end stage renal failure, Ron received a successful renal transplant and today is an ambassador for the Fit For Life programme which is promoted by The World Transplant Games Federation.
