Dr Hugh Gallagher, a specialist GP who has worked exclusively in the field of Addiction Medicine for the past twenty years. He is GP Coordinator for the HSE Addiction Service in North Dublin City and County. Within this role he works with HSE clinics and community GPs to provide Opiate Substitution Treatment and with the Stanhope Centre to provide treatment to people with Alcohol Use Disorders. He is Medical Director at the Community Residential Detox Centre run by the Peter McVerry Trust and Medical Director at Smarmore Castle Private Clinic.

Austin will provide an inspiring overview on how he progressed from addiction back to rebuilding his life and career. How his addiction progressed through the use of many different substances, what his treatment path looked like and how he maintains recovery and inspires and supports others.
