Ms Rogers is a General and Colorectal surgeon, currently doing a fellowship in the Royal Marsden Hospital in London in robotic colorectal surgery and multivisceral resection for advanced pelvic malignancy. Ms Rogers attended medical school at University College Dublin, and was awarded a PhD in colonic physiology with UCD and Yale university before completing surgical training in Ireland. She has a strong research pedigree with qualifications in statistics, leadership and healthcare economics, over 50 peer-reviewed publications and two book chapters. Last year she was the recipient of the inaugural RCSI PROGRESS Surgical Fellowship, funded by Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices Companies, which supports developing diverse workforces and nurturing female talent. Ms Rogers advocates for gender diversity, with her studies on gender in surgery published in the two top ranked general surgery journals worldwide. Ms Rogers will return to Ireland later this year and take up a consultant post in the Mater hospital Dublin and Our Lady’s Hospital Navan.
